Dec. 31st, 2014 12:54 amWhen the call comes in that Jason's expected at the station ASAP, he's not really sure what's about to go down. Doesn't sound like he's in trouble, which is good. He's worked pretty fucking hard not to fuck up anything at this job. After all, people don't know he's Jason Stackhouse.
Well, they know that's his name, obviously.
But it doesn't carry the same weight it did back in Bon Temps. He's not having to prove he's better than the horny idiot he'd been throughout his twenties. He misses Andy like hell, the old bastard, but everyone's pretty nice. He even had a partner, for a while, before the guy quit to spend more time with his family.
It turns out, once he gets there, that the reason for getting called in actually has to do with his lack of a partner-- looks like they found him a new one. He really, really hopes it's someone who's not a Darrow native. He's not prejudiced, he just wants a partner who hasn't drunk the bee-filled and wicker man burning Kool-Aid around here.
Jason settles down in the chief's office, waiting for the other guy to arrive.
